A Toxic World

• 95% of cancer is caused by diet and environmental toxicity (Columbia University School of Public Health)
• Biopsies of human fat found styrene residue in 100% of people (Environmental Protection Agency)
• Our bodies accumulate 210 mcg of plasticizers everyday – and that’s just one of the chemicals in our environment (Environmental Protection Agency)
• Most of us have between 400 and 800 chemical residues stored in our fat cells
• The average city water contains more than 500 chemicals (USA Today)

It’s no secret that the world we live in is becoming increasingly toxic to our bodies.
At the latest count, there are an astonishing 77,000 different chemicals circulating in the environment in America today. You may not be aware of it, but over 3,000 of these potentially harmful chemicals are actually being added to our food supply, while another 10,000 of them – in the form of solvents, emulsifiers, and preservatives – are used in food processing, packaging, wrapping, and storage.

The result is we are all ingesting tiny amounts of these chemicals every day. Those chemicals that the body cannot process and eliminate accumulate and are stored in our fat cells. As these chemicals build up they play havoc with our systems, altering our metabolism, causing nutritional deficiencies, creating hormonal imbalances, damaging our brain chemistry, and making us more susceptible to diseases such as cancer.

Studies show that most of us have between 400 and 800 chemical residues stored in the fat cells of our bodies. Virtually every organ in our body contains a fat component, including our brain. These chemical residues pose a serious threat to our physical and psychological health as these toxic substances get released into our bloodstream during physical or emotional stress. Because these chemicals accumulate in different parts of the body at different rates and in different combinations, there is a disturbingly large variety of different chronic illnesses that can result.

We Can Do?
A lot more than you think!

Until recently, there was only one proven method of ridding the body of this accumulation of harmful chemicals – and that was by spending time sitting in a sauna sweating.

According to Dr. David Schnara, Science Advisor to the Environmental Protection Agency, sweating is the only method of detoxification evidenced in current nutritional, medical and bio-chemical literature capable of significantly reducing or eliminating stored toxic residue with scientifically proven safety.

The only problem is not everyone can tolerate a hot sauna.

Ironically, it is those who stand to gain the most benefit from a detoxifying sauna that seem to have the most difficulties remaining in one long enough for it to do its work. This is especially true for those who suffer with heart problems, multiple chemical sensitivities, Multiple Sclerosis, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.

The reason for this is because the greater the accumulation of stored toxins in the body, the greater the likelihood of damage to one’s autonomic nervous system. And the more one’s nervous system is compromised, the less efficient the body becomes at regulating its body temperature. Instead of sweating to cool the body down, such people simply find themselves becoming increasingly uncomfortable, dizzy, nauseous, faint, headachy, weak or just plain miserable as their bodies overheat.

The Solution: Far-Infrared Therapy

Now, thanks to recent technological advances, there’s a wonderful new solution that offers all the benefits of sauna detoxification – and more – without any of the drawbacks associated with conventional saunas.
It’s called Far-Infrared Therapy.

In addition to being far safer than a traditional sauna, Far-Infrared Therapy is infinitely more tolerable because it uses a form of heat energy that penetrates tissues, triggering the mobilization of chemicals from subcutaneous fat storage, directly into the sweat. This activating penetration allows for a much lower overall temperature to be used, one that is actually comfortable and enjoyable.

More importantly, because the temperature in a Far-Infrared Sauna is much lower than conventional saunas it’s ideal for elderly people and patients with conditions in which heat is contraindicated.

What is FIR Therapy?
Solar energy from the sun covers a broad energy band, including far-infrared (4.1 – 1000 microns). This band of light is not visible but can be felt as heat.

Far-infrared energy does not heat the air. It heats the cells of the body to a depth of several inches. It actually causes molecules to vibrate fiercely and change to thermal heat, increasing the body temperature. This principle of heat transmission enables us to keep the temperature low whilst producing a deep cleansing sweat.

FIR energy causes water molecules to change shape and cluster, increasing their hydration capacity. Combined with heat expanded blood vessels this increases circulation in blood, lymph and fat and promotes toxin removal.

The Benefits of Far-Infrared (FIR) Therapy:

• works at much lower temperatures than conventional sauna, and detoxifies 7 to 10 times greater
• detoxifies heavy metals e.g. mercury, lead, aluminum, arsenic
• detoxifies formaldehyde, pesticides, industrial chemicals, gasoline, plastics
• detoxifies alcohol, nicotine, heroin and prescription drugs
• enhance circulation and oxygenate the tissues

Benefit For The Heart
Research shows that 15 minutes of sauna therapy twice a week improves risk factors for heart disease: lowers blood pressure, lowers blood sugar, lowers cholesterol and triglycerides, increases blood flow (Imamura et al, 2001).
